The long -awaited championship warfare set for Newark PPV

UFC has been moving block clashes like nobody’s business over the past week, and they have just added another to the list.

On Monday, according to the Source in Evislating MMA Léo guimaraesUFC’s Bantamweight champion for women Julianna Pena will defend her title against Kayla Harrison on June 7 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Tapology has also increased the war in their ongoing formation for UFC 316. So far, it is the only war attached to the card. The pen recovered the title when she made a decision divided by Raquel Pennington in October 2024 at UFC 307.

In the same card, Harrison defeated Ketlen Vieira to position himself for the possibility of the title. Most people probably didn’t expect it to take nine months to come true, but as it is, that’s the case.

Harrison has a chance to make some stories. If she defeats the pen, Harrison will become the first woman to win a professional championship of warriors and the UFC World Championship. Harrison would be the second fighter ever, as Francis Ngannou managed Feat in October 2024 when he won the PFL Superfights title by scoring a TKO victory over Renan Fereira.

The pen, 35, said it’s not long for this game. Her ideal plan would be to confront Harrison and beat her, and then seduce Amanda Nunes from a retirement for a trilogy with the MMA icon.

The pen destroyed Nunes through the second round in December 2021 with one of the biggest obstacles in UFC history. However, Nunes tied the score with a dominant unanimous victory of the match in July 2022.

Nunes continued to successfully defend her title once again in June 2023 when she scored a unilateral victory over Irene Aldana. Nunes withdrew from the sport, leaving her gloves, as well as her wreaths of women’s Bantam at UFC in Octagon.

Since then, Nunes has fallen some harassment of a comeback, and seems like a strong opportunity-given who wins the pen-harrison war. Regardless of what else is added to the UFC 316 card, the Pen-Harrison War is a good one.

It looks like UFC would look to add another card fight as the main event. This would be a great place for Jones Jones Vs Tom Asinall for the undisputed heavyweight title.

Because the International Fighting Week is three weeks later, the UFC will want to save some strong periods for that card. We will surely find out over the next month what fights will join the pen-grabbing on the card.
